THE INVENTION OF WINGS

THE INVENTION OF WINGS
This is a story about friendship, it talks about what true friendship entails . The major characters in the Novel are two women called Sarah and Handful.

The two women are an inspiration to every reader with respect to to maintaining a cordial relationship, through these two women, the moral lessons or message  of what true friendship entails is passed easily, In other words it is evidenced in the Novel that true friendship is all about care, sacrifice , understanding, tolerance, perseverance , to mention but a few.

The novel is a tale of how two women called Sarah and grew to become best of friends , irrespective of social, racial and class factor.  Sarah was  a caucasian while handful was a black slave. And as of time immemorially, following the setting of the novel and the Era that was being portrayed or depicted by the novel, these two set of races( black and white ) where forbidden from having friendly relationship  because african american were used as slave.

However, the barriers of slavery could not prevent Sarah from developing a unique friendship with handful ; a black girl slave  who caught her fancy , also she hated the fact that these slaves were being maltreated and held hostage against their will

Another strong lesson from this novel with regard to friendship is that friendship is all about humility, Handful was a slave that a free born like Sarah can order around . Yet Sarah  didn't take joy in ordering her around , rather from Sarah's Golden heart, emanated a deep sense of sympathy for   handful and instead showered handful with care love and affection especially by teaching Handful English language , a language which blacks were forbidden to learn as of then and based on this Sarah was punished .

This novel indeed teaches any reader a great deal about friendship. In addition to  moral lessons already highlighted , an important point to also note  is that true friendship comes with a desire to care, risk and sacrifice for another friend .

THE HOUSE I LIVE IN

THE HOUSE I LIVE IN
This is a documentary by Eugene Jarecki Which focuses on if the use of the method of of using impsonment (recidivism ) on criminals in the united states ,has curbed the level of crime in the states or if it has rather accentuated its rate.

Basically any Law student, lawyer or Law enforcement agent will recommend imprisonment as a traditional way of curbing crime, however this documentary argues and statistics has also shown that for the past years the level of Crime has not decreased but has  grown progressively high and the the question is then asked on if the the traditional method of recidivism As a way of dealing with criminals is not effective?

Every citizen  has a duty of thinking out the best ways to manage offenders ,  In United states  the law makers have a huge role to play with regards to this as it has been found that in countries where nordic punishments have been applied, that the rate of crime was significantly reduced .The writer argues that punishments are best if the the rehablitative approach is adopted.

Also it has been observed by this documentary that the majority of criminals are the un educated citizens , this goes to the extent of showing the the united states government is also requires to invest on the lives of its uneducated purpulance by introducing a kind of government support program , something that should be more rewarding than the normal social security stipend.

The writer of the documentary didn't offer much solution but I. Suggest that in addition to rehabilitation also death penalty should be introduces to other severe offens as against imprisonment.

EDUCATION IN POPULAR CULTURE

Popular culture can be defined as the inclination towards the use of hip pop culture and its accompanying Language, Mostly by young people because most young people actually feel cool with themselves when they use popular Culture Language

Some writers have argued that popular culture is a distraction to the learning process , especially considering the fact that sometimes it involes use of obscence, improper and vague Language , however other porpular writers have argued and have actually exhibited that there is indeed a  positive side of popular culture , it is observed that if someone is in love with hip hop Language then you can as well use his or her niche as a powerful tool for teaching , especially in drawing the interest of such a person and also in facilitating the remembrance process.

Popular culture mostly involves singing and it has been observed with regard to singing, that toddlers when being thought with music tend to grab or understand their teacher better E.g almost every one learnt the English Alphabet  ABC through it  singing out,    During the toddler days. In the same manner popular culture can be used for learning through singing,

Writers like Tim Weedom has also Identified that in addition to the learning process, use of popular culture can also help to increase social skills and I absolutely concur in the sense that it is not all popular culture Language that contain trash and Junk, some of this may also contain meaningful words which can aid its user in daily social communication.

The first time I went to school I hate it deeply . I was only contented myself with a chair to sit silently, and my eyes watching the place and kids crying around me. Suddenly, the voice of the teacher fill the place trying to draw our attention. Attempt to sweeten the school, books and other. The school was the place revealed to prison for me, I was just thinking of how to go out and have fun with the kids. No one from my family expected that someday I would be succeed in my study .But, the ordinal in the last three years In high school did not come down for top five. I graduated from high school with a higher GPA, and I choose for my future to be an Engineering like my father. But my father rejected that idea because he wanted me to study something I am really interested in. So, my parents decided to send me to study abroad to United State of America to study the English language, and find a future career that I have a passion for it. interviewing a classmate

I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Raed Al Ruwaili. He is 22 years old, came all the way from Saudi Arabia to the US to get the master degree in Business administration major. Raed was born in Sakaka City which is located in the very north region of Saudi Arabia. He is an outgoing person, he likes making friends and getting knowing new people. Raed spends most of his time with his friends playing Soccer, video games or just hanging out. One of his interesting habits that i discovered is camping in the desert. also, he likes to go hunting with his father or friends while they’re camping. After he graduated from high school he enrolled in a college in Jordan and finished his diploma. When he graduated from Jordan college he got a scholarship from the Saudi Education and he found that a great opportunity to get a higher degree and learn the English language. At the beginning, when he arrived to USA, it was not an easy for him to communicate with people, especially because he wasn't able to speak English at all. However, his excitement to learn made him get involved in the community so fast.
